What Changed

Different Platforms. Same playbook.

Both Google and Meta have phased out credit card payments for advertisers.

Google Ads

As of July 2024, Google phased out credit card payments for high-growth advertisers. Affected accounts must use monthly invoicing or direct debit.

In effect since July 2024
Meta Ads

Starting February 2026, Meta began notifying ad accounts of the switch to monthly invoicing. The deadline for affected accounts is March 31, 2026.

The Problem

This is more than a billing format change.

When you lose the ability to pay by credit card, three big things disappear with it.

01 — Autopay
Your Workflow Breaks Down

Monthly invoicing requires someone to receive, review, approve, and process a payment every month. For lean teams, that's a new recurring task with real risk of human error.

02 — Rewards
Cash Back Disappears

At $50,000/month in ad spend, a 2–3% cash back rate means $12,000–$18,000 back per year. That return disappears entirely when payments move to bank-based methods. The higher your spend, the bigger the loss.*

03 — Float
Cash Flow Becomes Unpredictable

Credit cards provide a 45–60 day float before the statement closes. With monthly invoicing, the billing cycle runs on the platform's schedule, not yours — adding unpredictability.

How It Works

Switch to Plastiq in three easy steps.

What You Keep

Everything you'd lose — preserved with Plastiq.

Plastiq doesn't just solve the immediate payment problem. It keeps your entire workflow exactly as it was.

Autopay Stays Intact

No new monthly tasks. No invoices to track, approve, or pay manually. Your campaigns keep running without anyone on your team touching a thing.

Every Dollar Still Earns

Keep earning cash back, points, and miles on every dollar of Google and Meta ad spend — regardless of which payment method the platform requires on their end.

Float on Your Terms

Your card's billing cycle stays in your control, not the platform's. Keep the 45–60 day window of working capital you've built your cash flow management around.

Zero Risk of Going Dark

A missed invoice can pause your Google or Meta campaigns, disrupt lead flow, and cost far more than the invoice itself to fix. Plastiq eliminates that risk entirely.

A payment that slips through the cracks doesn't just cost you the invoice amount. It can pause your campaigns, disrupt lead flow, and require time to troubleshoot and reinstate.

That's the risk monthly invoicing introduces. Plastiq removes it.

Beyond Ad Spend

One solution for every bill that doesn't take cards.

Once your account is set up for Google and Meta payments, Plastiq works for any business expense that doesn't typically accept credit cards. Consolidate all your payments in one place and keep maximizing rewards everywhere.
